The laboratory was created in 2018 with the aid of a grant from the Government of the Russian Federation (Project 220) on the basis of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Since 2022 the Laboratory is a part of Moscow Center of Fundamental and Applied Mathematics.
Lead scientist: Vladimir Temlyakov.
Fundamental mathematics for contemporary challenges
High dimensions arising from applications lead to the problems of multidimensional approximation
Greedy approximation, dictionaries, sparse (m-term) approximation
Functions of a special structure: ridge- functions, tensors, etc.
Discretization, numerical integration, discrepancy
n-widths, extreme properties of submatrices, etc.
